MNS pokes fun at Big B through poster

The Raj Thackeray versus Amitabh Bachchan saga seems to be getting worse, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has now targeted the superstar for claiming to be a farmer by putting up hoardings that call him the ‘Superstar Farmer’.

MNS’s reaction has come after Big B did a turnaround, asking back for the land he had donated to the Maharashtra government.

This comes weeks after MNS chief Raj Thackeray took on the actor for allegedly contributing more to Uttar Pradesh, than to Maharashtra.

His comments snowballed into an anti-north Indian tirade and sparked violence on the streets of Mumbai and other parts of the state.

Now, the party is taking another pot shot at Bachchan, this time for calling himself a farmer.

”I am happy that Amitabh Bachchan has called himself a farmer. If he can become a farmer, will farmer suicides stop? asked Sandeep Deshpande, vice president, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena.

The Maharashtra government had on Tuesday accepted Bachchan’s claim of being a farmer and let him keep a 21-acre plot in the Maval taluka of Pune.

This came after the actor decided to retract his earlier offer of donating the land, which the MNS was quick to latch on to.

”Just as an arrow cannot return to a bow, things donated cannot be taken back. This is a part of our tradition,” Deshpande added.

When the MNS had asked Bachchan to open a school for girls in Maharashtra, rather than UP, Jaya Bachchan had asked Raj Thackeray to provide land for the purpose.

Now that Bachchan has got his Pune land back, the MNS has its chance to sting the B.
